I know I have been missing in action for last 2 weeks with my next design pattern. It has been crazy at work, thanks to all of you who refer me to such interesting and exciting D2C brands. But now we are back on track with our “Persuasive Design Patterns” series.
For the new comers in my network, Persuasive Design Patterns is a library of design patterns used by ecommerce brands to influence human perception. You can use these to create your own high converting ads, landing pages and product pages. As cost of reaching users is on a constant rise across the board and more advertisers are bidding for same audience, what is going to make you stand out is ads and landing pages that CONVERT. And a way to do it reliably is what Persuasive Design Patterns is about. It is about making the invisible, visible.
This week we will talk about a tricky design pattern : The “Timeline” Design Pattern. Very few brands are able to leverage this because it needs a deeper level of understanding of your own product and customers.
Give yourself a challenge. Try to think how you can use the “Timeline” Design Pattern to show how your product or your customer’s life evolves over time. Just thinking about it might give you some interesting insights. I have made it easy for you with these brainstorming questions below,
Ask yourself >> Is there a way you can show the,
1. Evolution of your product over time
2. Evolution of your brand over time
3. Evolution of your customer’s needs over time
4. Evolution of your customer’s problems over time
5. Evolution of the relationship between your product and the customer over time
These prompts should be able to give you some high quality ideas.
